Family tree

In the following pages an attempt to trace the roots of our family running to about seven generations has been made. The information has been collected from various sources most of them from the descendants themselves. Efforts have been made to keep errors, if any, to the minimum. If you notice any omissions please do feel free to convey the same to me by a letter or e mail to enable me to incorporate the same in the appropriate charts.

The format of the charts has been designed in such a way as to enable you to view the names of each generation at one glance. Starting from a generation that can possibly be traced, the names of the first generation of children are given vertically in the descending order. The first vertical line represents the first generation member of the family. The second vertical line connected to the first by a horizontal line represents his children. The names of subsequent generations branching out from each descendant are added on vertically generation-wise and connected by a horizontal line. All the names are bracketed with the names of his or her spouse. If some one was married twice, two names are bracketed and if some one is unmarried no names are bracketed. Each generation is separated by a vertical line. Thus one can see the names of the family members for seven generations. And it is growing.

There are a number of names missing in this compilation due to non availability of all particulars of different branches who are either far removed from the compiler’s source of information or whose particulars are wrongly supplied. If the mistakes are within your near family please contact me as early as convenient with the correct information so that the mistakes can be rectified or correct particulars filled in where ever it is absent.

Finally it is the compiler’s hope that the exercise is continued by gen-next without a break. So it is requested that responsible adults of present generations explain the modus operandi to the next generation with a request to continue the same exercise.
